Now Hiring: Arts Instructor - Summer Program

The City of Medicine Hat's Esplanade Arts & Heritage Centre invites applications for this upcoming temporary summer position to lead and teach the 2021 Summer Arts Camps.

The ideal candidate has experience creating and developing lesson plans and curriculum, teaching children and providing student/program feedback and evaluations. They are organized, reliable, possess excellent communication skills and exercise good judgment. Finally, a passion to work with and teach children is a necessity!

This role will includes creating, developing and teaching lesson plans to children of various ages. Additional duties include working within the assigned budget, planning and undertaking field trips, coordination of student evaluations and program reporting.

Required Qualifications:

  • At least two (2) years completed of post-secondary Visual Arts Studies at the college or university level
  • Two (2) years arts education experience or related work experience
  • Successful candidate will be required to obtain Standard First Aid with Level B CPR prior to employment

This position has been identified as Safety Sensitive and requires the completion of a satisfactory pre-employment drug screen.

This position/project is under review for funding from the Canada Summer Jobs Program. Potential candidates will be informed of applicant eligibility criteria and may be requested to provide additional information for grant purposes (for example enrollment in school / Alberta residency).
