Now Hiring: Organizational Development Consultants

The City of Medicine Hat serves a community of approximately 65,000 'Hatters' and internally serves an employee base of approximately 1000. As a municipality, we provide a wide range of services that directly impacts our community and our residents.

The Human Resources department serves the organization and our residents with our values in mind: Accountability, Respect, Integrity, Courage and Caring. We have an exciting opportunity for two (2) Organizational Development (OD) Consultants to join our team! This position serves the organization by providing expertise in planning, developing and implementing organizational development strategies and programs that help leaders and management link their efforts to the City's goals and objectives.

Our ideal candidate has a proven track record of being a trusted advisor who can collaborate with various stakeholders, manage multiple projects, coordinate and conduct activities in the areas of:

  • Executive and management coaching;
  • Culture development and support;
  • Change management and;
  • The selection and application of various psychometric, team and leadership tools that you have previously implemented with success.

Required Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of a bachelor's degree in adult learning, education, organization development, human resources management or equivalent from a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • Five (5) years' experience in human resources, organizational development, organizational effectiveness, performance management and employee development, culture development, change management or equivalent.
  • Certificate/diploma in adult learning and accreditation in change management or equivalent supplemented by other accreditation in human resources.
  • Certification and/or experience with various psychometric, team development tools, leadership and cultural assessments would be an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles combined with practice in application of those principles.
  • Knowledge in designing and implementing change management interventions and employee engagement intervention.
  • An equivalent combination of management approved training and education may be considered.
